| Old people keen on English learning |

Chinanews, Beijing, Dec. 27 – Currently many elderly people in Beijing become enthusiastic for English learning, hoping do their bit for the upcoming Olympics, when large number of foreign visitors will come to Beijing from abroad.
Pei Suran, 60, said that she had signed to be a volunteer for the Olympics. Pei started learning English in June 2004, she believed that speaking English during the Olympics could make foreigners feel comfortable with their stay in Beijing.
Wei Mingrui, a junior high school student is Pei’s “teacher”. Wei’s youngest student is 50 years old, and the oldest one is 80. Learning English has become popular in recent years with the energetic support of the government.
