Chinanews, Suzhou, December 5 – December 4 was the 10th anniversary of Suzhou-style garden’s inclusion on the World Cultural Heritage List. On that day, the Suzhou-Style Garden Museum opened its new hall after three years’ construction.
There are nearly 200 gardens of different sizes in Suzhou, among which the Surging Waves Pavilion, the Lion Forest, the Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Garden to Linger In are the 4 most famous ones, each representing the artistic style of a different Chinese dynasty..
Nine of the Suzhou-style gardens are crowned as world cultural heritage sites. A garden based on Suzhou-style gardens has appeared in the UNESCO headquarters in Paris. So far, there are more than 20 replicas of Suzhou-style gardens completed all around the world.
The Suzhou-style Garden Museum is located in a residential community near the Humble Administrator’s Garden. It was first opened in 1992, when it was the earliest museum of gardens in China[1] [2] 下一页
